From the midnight of January 6, 2023 to the dawn of January 9, 2023, a large-scale replacement work was carried out at JR Shibuya Station in line with the once-in-a-century redevelopment of Shibuya.
In this construction, the outer platform of the Yamanote Line was removed and the tracks were relocated. And it is a construction to make the “SOTOMAWARI” LINE and the “UCHIMAWARI” LINE plat homes one and wide.

About 4,000 people were put into this construction, but the work started after the last train on the 6th and continued until the first train on the 9th.
Our company, Michinoku Construction Inc., challenged the work with about 40 people, including the work staff who were originally on this site and the support staff. The work place they were in charge of was the removal and expansion of the Yamanote Line platform.
It was a work in which the machines and tools that could be used were limited, but I was able to do the work smoothly. I was proud to be able to recognize the teamwork and technical capabilities of our staff once again.
If I could post a picture of the work in progress, I would be able to tell you more, but it’s a pity that I can’t do that. It seems that the next conversion work is scheduled for the middle of next year.
